Confusion in Borno: These are not our daughters – Parents claim

Some parents of the over 200 girls abducted from their school in Chibok, Borno state, have stated that the girls in the video allegedly released by Boko Haram showing purported chibok abductees who have converted to Islam, are not their children, Vanguard reports.
The video which was obtained by AFP shows a man who identifies himself as the leader of the dreaded Islamist sect saying the abducted christian girls have all been converted to Islam.
According to Vanguard, Governor Shettima of Borno had earlier asked for mass production of the video to be made and circulated in Chibok so affected parents could identify their children.
In an earlier report by Independent, one of the mothers claimed she could identify her daughter in the video.
Fresh reports from Vanguard says, some of the parents have claimed the video is fake as some of the girls shown in the video are allegedly older women and not teenagers.
“A parent who did not want his name mentioned for security reasons, admitted that he watched the video on a cable news channel, as well as, on the social media, but to his dismay,  he couldn’t identify any of his missing daughters in it.” – Vanguard.
